Go Kart in Toronto

Grand Prix Kartways Formula 1 style indoor road course was designed with an exhilarating go kart in Toronto racing experience in mind. We’ve got everything you’ve ever dreamed of: hairpins, chicanes, turns, and straightaways!

Driving Experience

Each session out on our track will leave you exhausted both mentally and physically. The shot blasted concrete gives excellent grip, improved cornering and provides for maximum performance for our Italian built OTL go-karts.

Our electric powered EK-5N-DR and EK-Mini are the best in the industry! Faster than gas powered karts and with immediate acceleration and greater torque than their gas counterparts. Not to mention they keep our facility clean of the stink from noxious gasoline fumes.

We’ve even added special touches to enhance your racing experience: grass infields, lamp posts, fountains, street signs, and so much more!

Be prepared to exit your kart excited and ready for more!

Track Layout

With real street simulated go kart in Toronto race track conditions, you are getting ready for the best racing experience of your life. Read on to find out more!

The Catapult

We’ve got the longest indoor high speed straightaway in Toronto. At over 600 ft. long, we’ve affectionately dubbed it The Catapult! As the very name implies, it will push your racing skills to their upper limits as it feeds you into the straightaway! Your friends and loved ones will cheer you on from behind the 80 foot glass wall of the Speed Zone VIP Lounge.

The Straightaway

The back straightaway features a drive under the trusses of a bridge. This structure runs along a breathtaking 130 foot life-like mural of the Toronto skyline and waterfront! We’ve even added authentic looking expressway signs! Watch them fly past overhead as your kart rockets towards the curve in front of our 75 foot Grandstand.

The Grandstand

Can you resist the sound of thousands of cheering fans in the Grandstand? The high speed curve of this section builds up your momentum for the most exciting part of the track. Get ready to jump on the brakes and feel the slam of negative G-force of the chicane!

The Chicane

The F-1 Style chicane will challenges your ability to brake and manage drift through the hairpin. An error here can cost you plenty of time on the lap. It may even send you too close to the barrier for comfort. However, if you’re careful enough, you can easily by pass the over eager and the timid here.

The Rotunda

Go Kart in Toronto

The scenic rotunda envelopes a 20 foot pond, fountain, and banana tree. As you race through this 360 degree dizzying turn, get ready to be tossed into a series of chicanes. If you can, take a look at the elevated and spinning race car above. It was driven by many famous Canadians from the early years of racing.

Final Lap

As you exit the final chicane, you will be greeted by an old friend: the Catapult. As you well know, this is the fastest sweeping turn on the road course. What you may not know is that it provides the highest G-Force of indoor go kart in Toronto racing! If that wasn’t enough, the lit lamp posts around the curve can add a strobe-like effect that will challenge your concentration.

Come and visit us at GPK!

At Grand Prix Kartways, we want you take away more than just a checkered flag; we want you to take home an unforgettable experience.

The karts are revved and ready to go. The driver’s seat is waiting. The lights are flashing down: Red. Yellow. Green… Go go go!

Come and race to the finish with us!

Go Kart in Toronto | Before getting on the Track, Do These?

First of all, you have to figure out which race track has the best facilities, and that’s where Grand Prix Kartways can help you.

GPK go kart in Toronto is electric-powered which keeps GPK racetrack clean and safe, and unlike gas-powered karts, there are no fumes and very little noise. GPK also has a remote-controlled shut-off which is capable of stopping all karts at once for on-track protection from pile-ups.

Our Formula One style indoor road course is designed to give you fun and authentic racing experience. With its numerous hairpin turns, chicanes, short medium and long turns, as well as the longest indoor high speed straightaway at 600 feet, surely, we are making your dreams of racing come true!

After figuring out which racetrack to race in, you have to know the rules and restrictions of that racetrack.

At GPK we have age and height minimums to ensure that racers can properly reach and operate the gas and brake pedals of our go-karts. For adults 16 years and above, we require that they are at least 32 centimeters, and for junior karts, your kid must be 122 centimeters in height and 10 years of age.

We also require our customers to wear our top-of-the line helmets, which meet all the safety standards of professional race associations. If you have long hair, it should be tied up above your shoulder and any loose clothing is secured.

At GPK, we don’t allow bumping, blocking or cutting off other drivers; and we have a zero-tolerance policy on driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. All these are mentioned in the pre-race orientation that is required to all beginners and new racers.

When you are familiar with all that, then it’s off to the races, as they say.

When you get to GPK, the first step you make is to register at one of the computerized kiosks to get a driver’s VIP pass or a spectator ticket. Then you go to either the spectator gallery or you will suit up to drive one of GPK’s state-of-the-art electric go kart in Toronto. After your cross the finish line, you will be presented with a comprehensive diagnostic printout of the race results, earning your bragging rights when you get home.

You are now ready to race. Come on over at GPK and have a fun and authentic racing adventure!

Toronto Go Karting | Go Kart Races: How Long Do They Last?

Here at Grand Prix Kartways, we want you to spend your time on the track…not waiting around in line-ups.

That’s why we run our races on a timed schedule on Toronto go karting.  Every 10 minutes, a new race session will begin, with as many as 8 to 10 people participating in that race session. At check-in, you will be pre-assigned to specific race slots based on the number of races you purchase.  These race slots will have times associated with them, so you will know where in the race queue you are, and approximately what time you will be racing.  We also have screens and monitors throughout the facility displaying the race schedule, so you’ll always be plugged into the action.

And about 10 minutes before your race time, we`ll page you over our PA system, so no matter where you are within the facility, you`ll never miss your race. By dividing our day into 10-minute intervals, we ensure that we maximize the number or racers we can get on the track, which for you means more racing, and less waiting.  So when you’re in between races, you can spend your time enjoying the other services and amenities that GPK has to offer as opposed to spending it in a lineup.

Toronto Go Karting

Most of our Toronto go karting races are set at 16 or 18 lap sessions, which can be reasonably completed within this 10-minute race interval.  That`s 4.5 miles of pure speed and exhilaration awaiting you each time you hop into the drivers’ seat!

If you are a speed demon, you could be clocking at 40 seconds per lap and this gets you 16-20 laps in. But if you are a greenhorn on the racetrack, you’ll have to settle for 14 laps. GPK’s top-of-the-leaderboard racers score around 20 laps per race at 23 seconds per lap! And if you are one of those hard-core Toronto go karting racers, then join GPK’s Endurance events once a month where you can race for over 100 laps!

So what are you waiting for?  If you think you have what it takes, head over to GPK today and discover what real racing should feel like!

Go Karting in Toronto | Restrictions at GPK to keep you safe

Have you wanted to try your hand at go karting in Toronto and wondering what the restrictions are to racing here at Grand Prix Kartways?

Well first of all, there is height. If you are an adult, you must be at least 132 centimeters tall and 16 years of age. For junior karts, you must be at least 122 centimeters in height and 10 years of age.

The restrictions on height exist to ensure that racers can properly reach and operate the gas and brake pedals of our go-karts. The age restrictions on the other hand can only be relaxed by the manager and only if there is adequate proof that the child has racing experience. Go karting in Toronto is not a walk in the park and requires a lot more energy than most people think. Children may not able to endure an entire race session if they are too young or are inexperienced.

Also, if you have a health condition, like a heart ailment, risk of stroke, epilepsy, bad back, are pregnant, or recently had surgery or a fractured bone, we strongly recommend that you sit this one out with your favorite drink at our trackside lounge. GPK’s state of the art electric go-karts can hit speeds of 85 kph, and with its amazing indoor road course complete with hairpins, chicanes, short, medium and long turns and straightaways—let’s just say that the GPK go-kart experience, although safe, is not for the faint of heart.

Go Kart in Toronto

You got your own custom-made go-kart that can do the speeds like no one’s business? Cool. But, sorry, we don’t allow any other karts on our track. This is for your own safety as well as that of others. All our karts are designed by Ferrari engineers and have been inspected and approved by TSSA for safety and integrity. We don’t allow gas engines in our clean and stink-free facility either.

And lastly, persons who had been drinking alcohol over and above the legal driving limits are not allowed to race. GPK has a breath alcohol tester at the Pit booth which we randomly test drivers with. If you tested over the driving limits, you will not be allowed to race, and you will not get a race refund. A general rule of the thumb is: no more one drink per hour. Should you break our drinking limits, a first offence will get you a race credit. On your second offence, we will forfeit your race fees.

These restrictions may make us sound all fuddy-duddy but we would like your experience at GPK to be enjoyable and exhilarating, without compromising your safety. So, come on down today at GPK and bring along your friends for some great go karting in Toronto fun!

How to Improve Your Lap Times During Your Toronto Go Karting Adventure

We know you’re awesome at racing – but we bet you can be even better while you explore Toronto go karting at GPK! If your friends are beating you, or you just want to make sure you have a bigger lead over them, learn how to leave ‘em in the dust using the following tips!

First, start out big. When that green flag drops indicating that it’s time to “GO!”, you’ll want to avoid the bunch up that happens in Toronto go karting when a race begins. To do so, establish a comfortable racing position by starting off quickly so you can be the one that tells everyone how fast they should be going.

75 Carl Hall Rd #9, Toronto, ON M3K 2B9, Canada

Toronto Go Karting

Second, it’s a good idea to watch your “race line” closely. What is a “race line”? This is the path you follow while racing your opponents. Some people hug the outside of the racetrack, and sometimes that isn’t always the best thing to do. In fact, if you want to get ahead even faster, hug the inside of the track and take corners at a slightly slower speed. Maintaining the fastest speed you can at all times is what makes the difference between winning and coming in second. Even if you’re just a few short feet in front of your opponents, that’s still what will get you the win and shave off seconds during your Toronto Go Karting race!

Finally, and possibly most importantly, great racers know how to anticipate a track. Understanding how the track moves and how it flows will help you make good decisions while racing at our Toronto Go Karting track. For example, knowing when a curve is coming will allow you to anticipate the moment when you need to turn. Be patient, and after several races you’ll probably have a better idea of how to handle your car so it conforms to the track in the best way. We bet that soon enough, you’ll be the head of the pack the entire time!

So are you ready to see your lap times decrease and your friends desperately try to catch up with you? You can make it happen by racing more often – right here at GPK!
